The Journey Begins

I am a lifelong fan of movies, TV, and comic books, specifically in the superhero, science-fiction, fantasy, and crime genres. I graduated from Fordham University with a major in Film and Television and minor in Journalism. Currently I am studying for a master's degree in Cinema Studies at New York University. My ultimate goal is to be a film critic but I am interested in other areas of cinemas studies as well. To me, cinema is everything to do with film. This includes films themselves, the processes of making, watching, and interpreting them and any other related activities, such as film preservation and history, among other things. I hope to expand this personal definition into a more comprehensive one as part of my studies at NYU. In Film Theory Through the Senses I hope to learn about new perspectives on cinema that will allow me to look at specific films and the art form overall in different ways. Some of my favorite films are Star Wars: Episode IV- A New Hope, The Hurt Locker, E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial, The Godfather, Taxi Driver, The Lord of the Rings Trilogy, The Dark Knight Trilogy, Logan, Captain America: The Winter Soldier, and Looper but there many, many more I love equally.
